Background & Context

This academic project was developed for the Information Systems Analysis and Design course (ISYS6677003) as part of the system modeling and analysis module.

The case study, Alerty, represents a mobile application designed to streamline access to emergency services and social incident reporting. Many citizens experience difficulties in contacting emergency numbers or reporting urgent situations quickly. Alerty aims to address this issue by offering a centralized, easy-to-use platform for contacting authorities and submitting reports directly through mobile devices.

Project Objective

To design a complete system analysis and design model for the Alerty mobile application, demonstrating the ability to translate business needs into structured system documentation using industry-standard modeling tools.

Project Scope & Deliverables

System Analysis Deliverables

Developed the full suite of system documentation artifacts:

  • Use Case Diagram: Describes system functionality from the perspective of users, admins, and helpers.

  • Activity Diagram: Visualized workflow for emergency reporting, social reporting, and feedback submission.

  • Domain Model Class Diagram: Defined main entities such as User, Report, Helper, Admin, Category, Feedback, and Review with relationships and attributes.

  • State Machine Diagram: Modeled lifecycle transitions of report status (e.g., Pending → In Progress → Done).

  • System Sequence Diagram (SSD): Showed the interactions between system components and actors during core use cases.

  • CRUD Matrix: Mapped create, read, update, and delete operations across all system entities.
